In July, we released the Mr Nice Guy, a bacon-cheeseburger with a difference! For every Mr Nice Guy sold, we donated $1 to StreetSmart, an organisation that works closely with people experiencing homelessness in Melbourne.
The money raised from our Mr Nice Guy burger went to three local initiatives:
St Mary’s House of Welcome
St Mary’s House of Welcome is a Fitzroy-based charity committed to providing accommodation and services to those most at risk of falling through the gaps. A donation can help put a roof over someone’s head.
Southport Community Housing Group
Securing accommodation for low-income earners, and giving vulnerable people a place to call home.
The Big Issue is a not-for-profit organisation that develops solutions to help homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged people positively change their lives. Donations big and small can help further their great work.
These local initiatives have been consciously chosen based on their tireless and incredible contributions, but also because they were having an impact in the communities where Mr Burger trucks and stores are located.
We’ll be bringing Mr Nice Guy back soon, keep an eye out!
